Jack Bastianen entered into a partnership with the son of a fruit growing family in 2000. Since then, they've been growing apples and pears on an acreage that they have greatly expanded together. They focus firmly on cultivation, so cool their fruit themselves and outsource grading processes.
There are a number of things Jack enjoys the most in his work: the freedom it offers, being surrounded by nature, and being able to make independent decisions. The conscious decision to ensure their trees are kept young is unique to the company. When it comes to new developments, in cultivation and cooling technology for example, they are ahead of the curve. Staying up to date with developments and innovation is important to their vision, as much for the quality of their produce as for maintaining a broad perspective, in order to safeguard the future. Because who knows, maybe the next generation will also join the fruit growing business!
